Acnedap Gel (Dapsone Gel IP 5% w/w) is a topical medication used for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Each 15 g tube contains 5% dapsone, a sulfone antibiotic and anti-inflammatory agent that works by reducing acne-causing bacteria and calming skin inflammation, helping to decrease pimples and prevent new breakouts. It should be applied as a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily on clean, dry skin as directed by a dermatologist. Common side effects may include mild dryness, redness, or irritation at the application site, while serious reactions are rare. It is generally well-tolerated but should be used with caution in patients with G6PD deficiency or known hypersensitivity to dapsone or sulfa drugs.
